Glass Art

Hello everybody! Welcome back to another blog on 30Kellan’s Random Blog! Today I am going to talk about glass kilning! A type of art 🖼️! I will talk about the basics of what it is, the materials you need and how to do it, and the dangers! Yes… the dangers. Ok. Let’s get in!

SooooooooooooøoooooøoooøøooøoooOOo000o0o00o0ooøooœôöòóøōõ… Glass art is very cool. It is also called glass fusing. Because you fuse glass together. So basically you make a shape with glass and when you melt it it becomes a piece ☮️ of art. They make great gifts!

That was short. Now for the materials you need and how to do it. So first and foremost, YOU NEED A KILN!!!! Hence the name glass KILNing! The kiln can go up to 1500˚ to 2000˚ Fahrenheit! That’s how it melts your glass. The next thing you need is glass… do I even need to explain this? Ring Ring! Uggggggh. Who is calling? Little Timmy? “What’s gla-” GO TO SCHOOL!!!!!! Anyways, little Timmy wont have to go to school anymore. In fact, he can’t do anything anymore. Little Timmy is taken care of. (In background) FBI open up! I will be right back! Ok! They are taken care of! Next you need a glass cutter and running pliers. The glass cutter cuts the glass into the shapes you like 👍! The running pliers will pry the glass apart when you cut it.

To make glass art, you cut the glass into the shapes you like, then you pry them apart will the pliers. Then you put them together and put them on the kiln shelf! Then you program the kiln. Then you put the things in the kiln!

Taken by me. Photoshop and google slides 🛝 helped me. (this photo is obviously a humous version of the process)

now for the dangers!

1. The bottom of the kiln could melt if something goes wrong. (It has not happened to me yet)

2. It may use a lot of electricity (i think it does)

3. you might cut yourself on glass

4. Glass might fly into your eye.

5. Anything painful to do with glass

6. The kiln will explode at 100 uses! (Just kidding! The kiln will not explode!)

Thank you for reading! And remember that I just wanted to tell you some things. If you want to do glass kilning, talk to a professional! Bye 😘!
